Advanced Certificate in Credit Union Practice (ACCUP)
Now in its fifth successful year, the Advanced Certificate in Credit Union Practice (ACCUP) is the essential credit union qualification for both credit union volunteers and staff. Over 1,200 credit union officers have undertaken the qualification and benefited from an excellent learning experience.
The Advanced Certificate in Credit Union Practice is a training programme that aims to develop and implement best practice standards of governance and operations, whilst at the same time recognising the unique ethos of the credit union movement.The programme is based on a flexible learning approach which does not require participants to sit exams.
Module Content and Materials
Students receive a complete set of learning materials for each module including a student manual, workbook and support material. Manuals are developed specifically for credit unions in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Irelandby credit union experts. These are updated annually to ensure they incorporate the latest developments in credit union operations, legislation, governance and compliance.
Tutorials
Student are supported by 24/7 access to online support and onefull-day tutorial for each module. The ACCUP programme uses small, highly interactive group sessions rather than large lectures when delivering. This approach ensures a much better learning experience for our students.
ACCUP Structure
ACCUP follows a model of two learning streams, which enables the programme to be particularly relevant to the distinct roles of volunteer (directors, committee members and supervisors) and staff members (staff, manager and frontline volunteers). Students must complete four modules; two core modules and two role specific modules.
Note: Credit Union Insurance Products is not applicable in Northern Ireland. Staff in Northern Ireland will complete the Credit Union Finance module.
