As National Volunteering Week came to a close, Roscommon Credit Union proudly celebrated the incredible dedication and selflessness of volunteers throughout the local community through its campaign, “Community Heroes: Celebrating Local Volunteer Stories.”

Launched in conjunction with National Volunteering Week, the campaign highlighted the inspiring individuals who continue to make a positive impact across Roscommon through their time, commitment and community spirit. The initiative was especially meaningful as credit unions across the country joined together as the main sponsors of the week with Volunteer Ireland..

Throughout the week, Roscommon Credit Union showcased stories from volunteers connected to local organisations, community initiatives and the wider credit union movement, recognising the vital role they play in promoting inclusion, supporting local causes and strengthening communities.

The campaign also featured contributions from Brendan Jenkins and Paul Hume, whose participation reflected the strong connection between volunteering and the credit union ethos.

From community champions to long-serving volunteers, “Community Heroes: Celebrating Local Volunteer Stories” shone a well-deserved spotlight on the everyday heroes whose efforts continue to make Roscommon a stronger and more connected community.
