Business Development Officer

Our client, a leading credit union providing financial services to teachers and their families throughout Ireland, are seeking to recruit a Business Development Officer, to drive membership, business development, and marketing activities.
 

About TUI Credit Union 

Our client, the TUI Credit Union is a large credit union serving the needs of teachers and their families. The Credit Union strives to be the preferred provider of loans and day-to-day banking for its members within or connected to the education sector.
 
The credit union’s vision is to provide for the financial needs of its members and to enhance benefits and choice for its’ members through the range of financial services it offers including member accounts, current accounts, personal lending and mortgages, provided to teachers and their families nationwide with phone, email and online services.

 

The Role 

The Business Development Officer will be primarily responsible for supporting the development, implementation and project management of a business development strategy and the delivery of associated membership, current account, lending and income targets, in line with the strategic plan.
 
The role will include travel nationwide to visit schools and colleges, engaging with current and potential new members and promoting the products and services of the credit union, increasing membership, current account members, lending and driving growth in the business.
 
The Business Development Officer will be responsible for the management, direction and oversight of the marketing function including a Digital Marketing Intern, and for continuously driving forward improvements in member experience. 

Reporting 

Reporting to the CEO.

 

Key Responsibilities 

Business Development
  • In consultation with the CEO, design and implementation of the business development strategy and agree on growth objectives and actions in line with the strategic plan and operational business goals    

  • Travel nationwide to visit current and potential members in schools and colleges and engage with them about membership, current accounts, personal lending, mortgage lending, services, etc. which leads to growth in these areas and to achieve the agreed growth targets

 
Marketing
  • Oversight, direction and management of the marketing function and all marketing associated activities within the credit union

  • Managing a Digital Marketing Intern.

 
Member Experience
  • Survey, understand and analyse member feedback and take actions to continuously improve member experience, working collaboratively with colleagues.

 

The Person 

The ideal candidate will have experience in business development, sales and marketing, and have excellent interpersonal, communications and sales skills.
 
Good business acumen, commercial awareness, and people skills are required.
 
The ability to drive on the business and to foster more engagement with the credit union and achieve growth targets in membership, current accounts and lending through face-to-face business development work, marketing and member experience work is essential for the role.
 
Experience in the financial services sector and in lending is preferable but is not essential for the right person with the above skills and attributes.

 

Contract
 

This is a full-time contract, initially for one year, with the view to permanency.

 
Working Hours 

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:30, with flexibility needed for travel, school and college visits and TUI conferences and events.
 

Travel

 

The role involves travel nationwide during the school/college academic terms.

 

Location / Hybrid Working

 

Hybrid working is available, with regular visits to the offices in Ballymount, Dublin 12 required to meet and engage with colleagues, as well as the travel component of the role.
 

Salary & Benefits 

The TUI Credit Union will offer a competitive salary and benefits including pension to a suitable candidate benchmarked with the market.
 
Business travel is compensated at the Revenue mileage rates and accommodation expenses will be reimbursed at cost.
