Compliance Analyst 

Position:           Compliance Analyst
Contract:         Permanent Full Time 35 hours
Reporting To:  Compliance Manager
Location:           Dublin High Street
Renumeration: €46,478 to €56, 602 depending on relevant experience & qualifications*

The compliance team is an integral part of ensuring our Credit Union is adhering to all legislation & regulations set out by the Central Bank of Ireland for the good of our members. 
 
This is a support role for the Compliance Function within HSSCU reporting directly to the Compliance Manager. This role will support the Credit Union’s compliance framework, with a focus on Compliance, Data Protection and Complaints Handling. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring regulatory obligations are met, adherence to external laws, regulations, and internal policies, typically by monitoring, reviewing, and auditing business activities. Ensuring reports are drafted and presented accurately and clearly, records are maintained accurately, and internal processes are followed consistently
 
The contracted hours for this post are 35 hours per week Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
 
Role Description:      
 
This position will have a variety of duties including;
 
Compliance Analysis

  • Design, maintain and update compliance registers, logs, and documentation.

  • Assist in monitoring adherence to internal policies and procedures.

  • Assist in monitoring internal adherence to applicable laws and regulations

  • Support the preparation of reports for presentation to the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee and Board of Directors.

  • Coordinate compliance-related meetings and audits

  • Ability to present reports to Board and Committee where necessary

Data Protection Support

  • Assist with the logging and tracking of Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) and other data protection queries.

  • Help maintain records of processing activities (RoPA) and data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and maintain and update the Data Breach Register

  • Risk assess any data breaches that occur within the organisation

  • Support the implementation of data protection policies and procedures.

  • Liaise with internal teams to ensure data protection compliance across departments.

Complaints Handling

  • Log and track complaints received, ensuring timely acknowledgment and resolution.

  • Support investigations by gathering relevant documentation and liaising with involved parties.

  • Maintain the complaints register and produce regular reports on trends and outcomes.

  • Assist in identifying areas for improvements based on complaints analysis.

Selection Requirements
 

  • Relevant qualification in Compliance e.g. Professional Certificate in compliance or Certificate in Compliance and Risk or equivalent is required

  • Certificate in Data Protection (e.g., IAPP, Law Society) an advantage

  • Be willing to obtain a recognized qualification that satisfies the ‘minimum competency requirements’ applicable to the adjuration of complaints (e.g. LCOI) within a given timeframe (no later than 4 years). Having this qualification already is an advantage.

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a compliance role with experience in compliance monitoring and reporting, complaints, governance, or regulated financial services environment is required

  • Credit Union industry training and/or familiarity with the Credit Union sector or retail banking industry an advantage

  • Meet & Satisfy Fitness & Probity requirements.
