Deputy CEO with responsibility for Finance, Risk & Compliance - RTÉ Credit Union

RTÉ CU is an established and successful industrial credit union with over 4500 members and assets in excess of €73m. Situated in the RTÉ campus in Donnybrook, the credit union is providing a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and successful financial institution.
The Deputy CEO will report to the CEO and support the management and operations of the credit union.


Key responsibilities

  • Day to day management of the Finance function and financial control.

  • Preparation of management accounts and regulatory returns (inter alia) such as the Prudential return.  

  • Completion and review of reconciliations of bank accounts, registers and schedules.

  • Administration of the investment portfolio in consultation with the CEO, Investment committee and advisers.

  • Preparation of forecasts and budgets. Assist in the preparation of business cases.

  • Administration of weekly payroll and manage the relationship with tax authorities.  

  • Perform Quarterly loan book reviews.

  • Preparation of reports and minutes for the Board and committees.

  • Prepare for audits and prepare information requests for auditors and regulatory authorities.  

  • As risk officer, effectively manage risk, the risk management framework and risk registers.

  • Ensure appropriate systems and Internal controls are implemented and maintained.  

  • Advise the Board on risk appetite and ensure Board set parameters are maintained.

  • As compliance officer ensure full compliance will legal and regulatory requirements including Central Bank, Anti-Money Laundering, Data Protection and Fitness and Probity regulations.

  • High level lending duties, supervisory duties and policy management.

  • Supporting the CEO in managing day to day operations and delivering the Board approved strategic objectives. Provide cover for the CEO as required.

 

The successful candidate should have the following:

  • a strong background in financial services.   

  • a thorough knowledge and understanding of accounting standards with membership of a professional accountancy body or extensive experience as a finance professional. 

  • the Qualified Financial Adviser diploma or equivalent Minimum Competency Requirements for Housing Loans.

  • experience in Human Resource Management.

  • a strong member focus with an emphasis on delivery and growth.

  • developed interpersonal, communication and software skills.

  • strong reporting and analytical skills.


Credit Union experience is also desirable.
