Head of Marketing and Communications

This leadership role, reporting to the CEO of Savvi Credit Union (‘Savvi’), is critical in enabling the credit union to continue its growth journey as a leading and ambitious credit union in Ireland.

The above role will focus on the creation, design and implementation of a marketing and communications strategy creating maximum awareness of our services across our existing members whilst also looking to attract new members.

The successful candidate will be a member of Savvi’s executive committee (“EXCO”) and will work with all elements of our business to execute marketing campaigns and communication strategies that are insight led, whilst using effective customer relationship management (“CRM”) tools and all available marketing channels.
 

Key role areas will include:

Marketing & Communications Strategic Management

  • Design and implement effective marketing campaigns within budget that support Savvi’s strategic objectives
  • Responsible for the design and production of all marketing collateral, internal and external communications material to be used by Savvi.
  • To assist in the completion and production of the credit union’s annual report
  • Ensure all marketing activities are compliant with existing regulation
  • Carry out research where required, on the competitive landscape to identify best-in-class marketing practices and campaigns with creative content based on findings.
  • Agency management- directly manage all relationships with external agencies including media, design and PR.
  • Branch retail network & merchandising-ensure all of Savvi’s branches are communicating the latest campaign messaging

Digital Marketing

  • Design and create engaging content for key digital channels including: Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Social Media Marketing, Paid & Organic Search Marketing, Email Marketing
  • Manage the Credit Union’s digital media accounts to drive awareness and engagement of our services
  • Monitor their performance and adapt if and when required. Provide insights into the results of such campaigns
  • Maintain and update the Credit Union website while ensuring effective optimisation strategies are in place and user journeys are regularly reviewed and updated
     

Events Co-Ordination

  • Plan and manage key Savvi events including Savvi’s annual family day and the AGM
  • Assist and support the Sales’ team in B2B events
     

Person Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

A minimum of 5 years experience in a marketing and communications role

A degree or equivalent qualification in marketing/digital marketing and communications Marketing experience in the financial services sector or the Credit Union sector would be a distinct advantage but other sectoral experience will be carefully considered.

 

In addition, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong understanding of websites
  • Strong reporting and analytics skills
  • Knowledge and experience of current marketing technologies and trends


At a personal and interpersonal level, the ideal candidate will have an:

  • Creative thinker with ability to articulate their ideas clearly
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to manage own workload, time and diary in order to meet deadlines / achieve outcomes

  • Ability to identify opportunity for innovation and solve problems
  • Align with the Credit Union ethos and values.
