Heritage Credit Union Limited headquartered in Rathfarnham, Dublin 14 with nine offices in Central and South Dublin, is one of the largest community-based Credit Unions in Ireland serving 42,000 members and managing €195m in assets. Growth in recent years has resulted in the requirement for a Marketing Officer.

Role Details

Reporting to the Business Development Manager and located in Rathfarnham, Dublin 14 (with some travel within the Common Bond required) the Marketing Officer’s main responsibilities will be to:

  • Plan, execute and deliver creative through the line marketing campaigns to grow membership interaction and achieve loan book growth, under the guidance of the Business Development Manager

  • Ensure all print media and marketing materials are kept up to date and in line with Financial Services advertising and regulatory guidelines.

  • Design and develop a digital marketing strategy, to support the Credit Union’s strategic objectives, this includes all aspects of content marketing, search engine optimisation (SEO) and social media marketing (SMM).

  • Maintain and develop all aspects of the Credit Union consumer website in line with local, national and strategic campaigns and financial services advertising regulations and guidelines

  • Devise, develop and implement engaging community partnerships within the Common Bond

  • Work with the wider team in developing new relationships with organisations, clubs, schools and community groups across the Common Bond.

  • Contribute positively to the growth culture within the Credit Union.

Skills, qualifications and knowledge


  • Third level degree in Marketing with Digital Marketing or Digital Marketing and/or a third level degree in IT, Digital or other relevant experience (or a willingness to work towards such a qualification)

  • Marketing experience, 3+ years across multiple disciplines

  • Experience in digital marketing strategy

  • Experience in creating and managing through the line marketing campaigns.

  • Proven experience in designing and driving effective marketing campaigns to generate leads and improve business conversion rates


  • Marketing experience in a financial services environment 

  • Experience in the use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and segmentation to driving revenue growth.  

  • Experience in public relations, events and sponsorship activation.

The person should be: 

  • ​A self-starter, goal-oriented, person with strong marketing experience who can make a meaningful contribution to the marketing function and deliver results

  • Outstanding attention to detail to ensure that the credit union meets its compliance responsibilities as a regulated entity

  • Excellent writing and communications skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship skills

  • Strong organisational and time management skills 

Salary will be competitive and commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications.
