Member Service Officer/Loans Officer

Position:                             Member Service Officer/Loans Officer
Contract:                            Permanent Full Time (37 Hours)
Reporting to:                    Front Office Manager
Location:                            Amiens Street – Dublin 1
Renumeration:                  €25,000-€35,000 depending on relevant experience.  Defined contribution occupational pension scheme.

ANSAC Credit Union is an industrial credit union with over 6,000 members.  We now have an exciting opportunity for a Member Service Officer/Loans Officer to join our team.

Role Description

This role will have a variety of duties within the credit union.  The main role will be to provide an efficient lending service to members.

Such duties to include:

  • Granting loans to members in accordance with legislation, regulation and the Standard Rules of Credit Union as well as the provisions set out in ANSAC Credit Union’s written Credit Policy and Procedure Notes, operating strictly within the specified limits of responsibility and authority and practising responsible lending in accordance with the Credit Union ethos.

  • To ensure all loan applications outside loan officers’ remit are placed before the relevant loans officer for consideration.

  • Looking after all aspects of loan administration, ensuring safekeeping of credit agreements and other relevant documentation and practising good CDD.

  • Contributing to decision-making on members’ applications for rescheduling of existing loans.

  • Dealing with member queries on our products and services.

  • Processing transactions in an efficient and accurate manner

  • Serving members through multiple channels i.e., telephone, online or over the counter

  • Completing other duties as assigned to include a range of administrative and organisational tasks as delegated by the Manager.

 

The ideal candidate will have

  • Experience working in a frontline role within a credit union or similar financial institution.

  • CU Diploma/Pathways Degree/APA Loans/Equivalent Financial Qualification

  • Team worker with strong communication and organisational skills.

  • Excellent analytical & decision-making skills.

  • Member focused, friendly with an excellent telephone manner.

  • Ability to work to deadlines and can prioritise tasks.

  • Willingness to be flexible and take on new tasks and projects.

  • Excellent IT skills
