Member Services Officer
Role - Member Service Officer
Hours of Work / Pattern - 32.5 hours per week, every second Saturday
Reporting to - Manager
Monasterevan Credit Union Limited is recruiting a Member Service Officer to join our team. The Member Service Officer plays an important role in delivering a warm, professional and efficient service to our members and in representing the culture and ethos of the Credit Union.
Reporting directly to the Manager, the successful candidate will process member transactions, respond to member queries and provide administrative and operational support across the Credit Union. Member service skills, accuracy and attention to detail are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:

Processing member transactions and balancing their own batch on a daily basis

Managing account opening and new membership applications

Collecting relevant information and documentation for loan applications and processing the payment of approved loans

Responding to member queries by telephone, email and face-to-face

Promoting and assisting members with the range of products and services offered by the Credit Union

Assisting members with credit control and loan queries and referring matters to the appropriate area where required

Supporting the Marketing Committee with offsite promotional activities

Contributing to the achievement of the Credit Union's objectives and goals

Supporting the introduction and implementation of new technology, systems and services

Adhering to all relevant risk and compliance procedures, legislation and regulatory requirements, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Data Protection requirements

Undertaking back-office administrative and operational duties, including maintaining appropriate records and files

Complying with Health & Safety requirements

Undertaking such other reasonable duties appropriate to the role as may be required from time to time
Education, Skills and Experience
The successful candidate should have:
-
Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification
-
A minimum of two years' experience in a similar role within a Credit Union is desirable
-
A strong member/customer service focus with a friendly and professional manner

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-
Strong administration and organisational skills
-
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
-
Good computer and keyboard skills
-
The ability to work effectively on their own initiative and as part of a team

The ability to work effectively in a busy environment

A QFA/APA qualification is mandatory. Where the successful candidate does not already hold the required qualification, they will be required to undertake and successfully complete the relevant qualification as a condition of the role. Training and support will be provided where required.
Working Arrangements
The role is 32.5 hours per week, with the working pattern to include every second Saturday.
