Member Services Officer


Shannon Credit Union LTD is seeking a Full-Time Member Services Officer for a 12-month contract. Reporting to the Assistant Manager/Management Team, the officer will be responsible for a range of administration tasks and perform a key support role, being the first point of contact for Credit Union’s members.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing an excellent standard of service to members at the counter, online, by phone and post

  • Dealing with members’ transactions, account updates/forms, lending and member related insurances

  • Dealing with member service queries, including loan queries

  • Accurately and diligently handling cash: reconciling balances and accounts in accordance with cash control procedures

  • Assisting members with the loan application process – preparing applications in compliance with policy and procedures and working with the underwriting team throughout the process

  • Preparing reports as required

  • Supporting revenue generation and business development activities

  • Completing other duties as required by the management team


The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a minimum of 2 years financial services/credit union experience

  • Excellent communication skills, administration skills and attention to detail

  • Be flexible and adaptable, ready to join a highly efficient team that prides itself on consistently delivering the highest standards of service to the members

  • Proficiency in the English language is a requirement

  • Good I.T. skills

  • Cash handling experience

  • Professional qualification such as ACCUP, CUA, QFA or Pathways Certificate / Diploma would be an advantage, but not essential
