Job Title:           Senior Lending Officer
Reporting to:   Lending Team Leader
Tower Credit Union Limited headquartered in Clondalkin, Dublin 22 was established in 1962 and is one of the largest and most progressive community based Credit Unions in Ireland serving 26,500 members and managing assets of €98m.  The Credit Union has 30 staff working from four offices in West Dublin.
Experience of personal lending in a Credit Union, Bank, Finance House or other regulated lending environment is essential for the role.


Reporting to the Lending Team Leader, the Senior Lending Officer’s main responsibilities will be to:

  • Deputise for the Lending Team Leader, when required, including supervision of staff engaged in the lending function.

  • Accept and assess loan / overdraft applications from members online, over the phone and in person.

  • Approve loan / overdraft applications within agreed policy limits set by the Credit Union.

  • Ensure compliance with lending policies, procedures and financial services legislation.

  • Manage lending risks and exposures.

  • Assist with the restructuring and refinancing of distressed loans.

  • Review and recommend changes to lending policies and procedures.

  • Report to the Lending Team Leader on lending activities.


The successful candidate will have:

  • Strong credit analysis and credit underwriting experience.

  • Business lending experience to the self-employed and SME sector.

  • A relevant lending qualification.

  • 3 years or more relevant lending experience.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Financial and computer literacy.

  • Strong report writing and administrative skills.
