Senior Loans Officer


Position:                            Senior Loans Officer
Contract:                            Permanent Full Time (35 Hours)
Reporting to:                     CEO
Location:                           Abbey Street, Roscommon.

Roscommon Credit Union is a community credit union with over 15,000 members across our 4 branches.  We now have an opportunity for a Senior Loans Officer to join our team.

 

Role Description

This role will have a variety of duties within the credit union.  The main role will be to provide an efficient lending service to members. Such duties to include:

  • Review the current suite of lending products and offer recommendations on existing and/or new offerings.

  • Granting loans to members in accordance with legislation, regulation and the Standard Rules of Credit Union as well as the provisions set out in Roscommon Credit Union’s Credit Policy and Procedures, operating strictly within the specified limits of responsibility and authority, and practising responsible lending in accordance with the Credit Union ethos.

  • To ensure all loan applications outside loan officers’ remit are placed before the relevant approving management for consideration.

  • Looking after all aspects of loan administration and reporting, ensuring safekeeping of credit agreements and other relevant documentation, and practising good CDD.

  • Contributing to decision-making on members’ applications for rescheduling of existing loans.

  • Dealing with member queries on our products and services.

  • Processing Applications in an efficient and accurate manner

  • Serving members through multiple channels i.e., telephone, online or over the counter

  • Completing other duties as assigned to include a range of administrative and organisational tasks as delegated by the CEO.

 

The ideal candidate will have

 
  • Experience working in a frontline role within a credit union or similar financial institution.

  • CU Diploma/Pathways Degree/APA Loans/Equivalent Financial Qualification or be actively working towards such a qualification

  • Team player with strong communication and organisational skills.

  • Excellent analytical & decision-making skills.

  • Member focused, friendly with an excellent telephone manner.

  • Ability to work to deadlines and can prioritise tasks.

  • Willingness to be flexible and take on new tasks and projects.

  • Excellent IT skills
