Job Title: Team Leader

Full time: Onsite Monday to Friday

Location: Mount Street, Dublin 2.

 

Job Summary:

As Team Leader, you will manage the front office team of Member Service Officers and play a crucial role in fostering a culture of exceptional service for our members.

You will have responsibility for the operational aspects of the day-to-day running of the credit union office to ensure the provision of a quality service to our members.

Reporting to the CEO, the Team Leader will be a key member of the Management Team and will promote and contribute to the development of the current and future services to members.

Experience in personal lending and/or credit control is essential for the role. The successful applicant will have a relevant qualification and will have gained significant lending/credit control experience working for a credit union, bank or other credit provider.

A clear understanding of the ethos and operating principles of credit unions is desirable.

The Team Leader’s main duties / responsibilities will be to:

  • Assist in promoting excellent service delivery to Members along with driving growth in applications for membership.

  • Accept and resolves queries from colleagues or members and escalates these to the rest of the Management Team when necessary.

  • Ensure Member Services Officers perform their duties to the highest standards and receive adequate and relevant training.

  • Report to the CEO on daily operational activities.

  • Review and recommend changes to operations, policies, and procedures.

  • Monitor the credit unions loan portfolio's performance, credit quality, and risk exposure, and take appropriate actions to ensure its stability.

  • Assist with the restructuring and refinancing of stressed loans, including negotiations with financial and legal advisers.

  • Operate within the policies, limits and credit control criteria approved by the Board of Directors.

  • Ensure operational compliance with all financial services legislation.

  • Assist in producing the specific periodic accounts and financial reports for the credit union, processing payments and lodgements in accordance with policy.

  • Act as a mentor and coach to peers, line reports and new staff.

  • Completes other duties as assigned.

 

The successful candidate will have:

  • A minimum QFA qualification (or APA Loans designation)

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Economics, or a related field is desirable.

  • 5 years or more relevant lending/credit control experience, ideally in a personal lending or commercial lending environment.

  • A minimum of 3 years people management experience

  • Ability to assess, critically evaluate and interpret complex information and to identify key credit risk drivers.

  • Strong credit analysis and credit underwriting experience

  • Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with team members, members, and stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in using lending/credit control software, credit scoring models, and Microsoft Office suite.

  • Ability to work on his / her own initiative to deliver agreed targets.
