Office of Treasurer Joe Mulvey ILCU Joe Mulvey has been involved in the Credit Union movement since joining the Board of Aviate Credit Union in the 1990’s. During his time there he held a variety of roles both on the Board and on the Supervisory/Board Oversight Committee. He was elected to the National Supervisors Forum in 2011 rising to the role of Chairperson. In 2017 he left the NSF committee as he was elected to the Board of the Irish League of Credit Unions where he currently holds the role of Treasurer. During this time, he also joined the Board of his local Carrick on Shannon Credit Union and as Chairperson, oversaw the merger of this credit union with two of its neighbours to become Heartland Credit Union. Joe has always been a passionate advocate about the work and social impact of the Credit Union movement and is very proud of all the years he has invested in it. A proponent of self-directed lifelong learning and best practices, Joe holds a variety of credit union relevant qualifications. His experience in the operation and governance of both large industrial and small community credit unions gives him a wide breadth of knowledge and appreciation of the challenges facing the movement both currently and into the future.
