1. What do you think is the greatest contribution that credit unions make?
In the last 60 years the Credit Union in the local community have helped so many people with their financial needs. The Credit Union should be the first port of call for a member and indeed non-members to assist with their financial needs and build the relationship with the member and the family going forward, The Credit Union is member owned and not for profit and have served the community well with sponsorship down throw the years, there is many examples of this across the country.
2. As an ILCU Board / Supervisory Committee member, what do you hope to achieve during your term?
I will play an active role as supervisor and make sure the board are working and making the best decisions for the movement going forward, I would like to see the ILCU board having collaboration with all stakeholders CUMA, CUDA, NSF, CUAC, and Alliance for the best possible outcomes for our Credit Unions. I believe in one voice going forward for the betterment of the Credit |Union Movement. I believe in the power of collaboration and transparency going forward.
3.If you were Minister of State for Credit Unions, what one change would you make
If I was the Minister, I would be looking at the cost of all the levies that Credit Unions are paying, the cost of doing business is very expenses. I would look at having the Credit unions been on the same level playing pitch as the pillar banks.
