What do you think is the greatest contribution that credit unions make?
Credit unions are there for members in their time of need, offering immediate qualified credentialed face-to-face, hands-on, personal attention for your financial emergency.
As an ILCU Board / Supervisory Committee member, what do you hope to achieve during your term?
To ensure the League remains intact, and its cooperative owned assets grown by securing internally generated assets ie PEARLS, NAC, CULearn onto the Group Balance Sheet. That the reputation of the Irish Credit Union Movement remains unsoiled and it retains its best reputation status.
If you were Minister of State for Credit Unions, what one change would you make?
In the Republic of Ireland, I’d reduce the Regulatory Reserve by 35% for community credit unions, and 45% for industrial credit unions.
In Northern Ireland, I’d give the go ahead for family home Mortgage Lending/ Shared Ownership Schemes/ Cooperative Housing Investing
