Brexit and the Border Event - Belfast

Posted on: 10 Apr 2019

Brexit is already, and will increasingly become a major issue for the island of Ireland. This is especially true for border communities, and for people and places dependent on cross-border and British – Irish trade. Credit unions in border areas are already well aware of this reality. Inevitably, people affected by Brexit will turn to credit unions for support when in difficultly.

This meeting titled ‘Brexit and The Border’ will be held in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Shaw’s Bridge, Belfast this Thursday 11th April at 7.15.p.m.

The meeting will be chaired by John Campbell Economics and Business Editor, BBC. The guest speakers will be Dr Esmond Birnie, Senior Economist, Ulster University Economic Policy Centre, Aodhán Connolly, Director at Northern Ireland Retail Consortium, Professor Chris McCrudden, Professor of Human Rights and Equality Law, Queens University, and Dr Katy Hayward, Brexit Expert, Queens University.

If you haven’t already done so and if you intend attending can you please email brexitmeeting@creditunion.ie letting us know the approximate numbers of people you expect to attend from your credit union. And please remember, ALL are welcome.
