Credit Union Launches National Junior Savers Week

Posted on: 05 Oct 2020

Credit Union Junior Savers Week launched today, October 5th. The week-long campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of teaching children the value of money, and saving for the future.

This year, Bobbi, our credit union Junior Saver, will help children save by sharing her own saving story and some great advice along the way. Keep an eye out for Bobbi in your local credit union - where she'll be appearing on some fun, engaging materials for children; including saving books, competitions, activity and colouring sheets.

Credit unions around the country will also raise awareness of the campaign by sharing helpful advice for parents - across informational leaflets, websites and on their social media channels.

ILCU Head of Communications Paul Bailey said:

"A huge part of our credit union ethos is financial education for everyone in our community. During these uncertain times, we recognise more than ever the importance of teaching children the value of money, while instilling a saving habit from an early age, a habit that will hopefully last a lifetime.”
