Disappointment at lack of NI representation on Financial Inclusion Committee

Posted on: 06 Dec 2024

The Irish League of Credit Unions has expressed its concern on the lack of representation from Northern Ireland on the UK Government’s newly announced Financial Inclusion Committee.

The Committee’s mission is to tackle barriers to individual and households’ ability to access affordable and appropriate financial products and services.

According to Martin Fisher, Head of Northern Ireland with the ILCU:
“We are deeply disappointed that Northern Ireland appears to have no representation in the development of the UK-wide financial inclusion strategy. Given the unique challenges and opportunities faced within Northern Ireland’s financial landscape, it is crucial that the lived perspective of Northern Ireland is included to ensure a truly inclusive approach that benefits all regions of the UK.”
