IT & Data Analyst

Progressive Credit Union is a not for profit, community-based credit union, dedicated to serving its 60,000 members with integrity and purpose. With an asset size in excess of €230 million, the credit union has seen significant growth in recent years across its seven-branch network located throughout the north Dublin region.
Due to this continued growth, we are delighted to be recruiting for the newly created role of IT & Data Analyst. This is a permanent, fulltime (36 hours per week) position, based in the Balbriggan, with requirement to travel and work throughout the branch network.
Purpose of the Role
Reporting to the Digital Transformation & Resilience Manager, the IT & Data Analyst is a dual role, combining IT support with data reporting and analysis. The role supports day-to-day IT operations while contributing to data-driven decision-making across the credit union.
Key responsibilities include:

Providing first-line IT support for staff, including troubleshooting, installing hardware/software, and maintaining system.

Assisting with IT security measures and supporting projects that enhance digital resilience and compliance with upcoming regulations such as DORA.

Collecting, analysing, and presenting data to produce clear reports and insights for management that will impact on the credit unions' decision-making and direction into the future.
This position requires strong attention to detail, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work confidentially and professionally across departments.
Skills and Competency Requirements

Third-level qualification in IT, Data Analytics, or a related discipline (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, HND in Computing).

1–2 years’ hands-on experience in IT support and/or data analysis; experience in financial services is an advantage.

Strong understanding of IT systems, networking, and security principles.

Working knowledge of Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2019, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 administration.

Experience in Power BI and SQL database analysis an advantage.

Familiarity with data analysis tools, reporting techniques, and visualisation software.

Excellent problem-solving and prioritisation skills with a focus on timely resolution.

Active listening skills to accurately determine and produce what is required.

Strong communication skills, able to explain technical matters to non-technical audiences.

Detail-oriented, organised, and capable of working independently and as part of a team.

Flexible and adaptable with a positive attitude toward change and continuous learning.

Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines without compromising quality.

Full clean driving licence and access to own transport for travel across branches.
