Clerical Officer
Public Service Credit Union is a modern, member-focused industrial credit union whose primary aim is to provide financial services that meet the needs of our growing membership. We operate from offices at Lincoln Place, Dublin 2 and Earl Place, Dublin 1. Reports to: Operations Manager
Salary: Civil Service Clerical Officer PayScale, with starting point depending on experience and qualifications
Role Summary
The role of the Clerical Officer is to provide administration support for a range of member services, including:

Assisting with the administration of member payroll deductions and other electronic payments

Helping members to access services such as loans, savings, current accounts, deposit accounts and insurances (in person, by telephone and online)

Processing lodgements / withdrawals

Processing and issuing loan applications
-
Providing administrative backup to loans officers
-
Dealing with member queries
-
Setting up new members and acting as teller/ cashier

Assisting with start-of-day, end-of-day and end-of-week processes in the office

Conducting all tasks in accordance with the credit union’s policies on anti-money laundering and data protection

Any other duties that may be required
The Person
A minimum of 12 to 18 months’ experience working in a financial services environment is desirable. Other skills and knowledge that might be advantageous to a prospective candidate include:

A good knowledge of Word and Excel

Strong attention to detail to help ensure that the credit union maintains a high standard of member service and regulatory compliance
-
Excellent administrative, organisational, and support skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
-
An aptitude for general accounts administration
-
A pleasant manner with strong interpersonal skills
-
A good level of education, possibly to third level
-
An APA for Loans and Investments qualification
-
Interest in pursuing further education and training
-
An ability to work as part of a team
-
Experience working with the Progress system
