Vacancy – Assistant Operations Manager

Kilcloon Credit Union, based in Kilcock, is a community-based, member-focused modern financial services provider and has experienced excellent growth in recent years. We are currently expanding our team and looking to recruit an Assistant Operations Manager.

Reporting to the Finance & Operations Manager, the Assistant Operations Manager will lead the Operations Team of Member Service Officers, including those Credit Officers who provide vital support to the Team as and when required, and be expected to contribute to the planning and delivery of the Credit Union’s strategic plans.

Working up to 4.5 days per week, including some Saturdays, this is a Permanent Part-Time role.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the member facing team in delivering excellent in-branch and online member service
  • Applying, evaluating and continuously developing operational standards, policies and procedures
  • Ensuring a positive and engaging work culture and environment within the team, achieved through excellent staff leadership
  • Assisting in the introduction, implementation and expansion of product and services to members
  • Overseeing and developing office and administration practices, including those relating to internal and external communications with staff and members respectively
  • Participating in the development and implementation of strategic and operating plans, particularly those relating to member service
  • Ensuring there is ongoing regulatory compliance and mitigation of operational risk
  • Fostering good relationships with the Management Team and other stakeholders
  • Promoting a culture that reflects the Credit Union’s values and encourages first-rate staff performance and excellent member services.                                                                                     

You will possess the following technical knowledge, skills and experience:

  • QFA or similar qualification, or working toward same, that at a minimum complies with the CBI’s MCC requirements
  • Knowledge of Credit Union sector, products, processes and systems is desirable, but not essential
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience within the financial services industry, ideally in a people management role
  • An understanding of the challenges and regulatory framework facing the Credit Union sector
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organisational and staff leadership skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and competency with Microsoft Office products

The role will be subject to the satisfactory completion of a 6-month probationary period. Remuneration will be commensurate with the nature of the role and experience of the individual, and will include a pension. Successful candidates will have opportunities for career development.
