Progressive Credit Union is a not for profit, community-based credit union, dedicated to serving its 60,000 members with integrity and purpose. With an asset size in excess of €230 million, the credit union has seen significant growth in recent years across its seven-branch network located throughout the north Dublin region.
The Role
Progressive Credit Union is seeking applications for the role of Financial Accountant on a permanent, part-time basis (24 hours per week). The role will be based in our Balbriggan office, and candidates should be open to travel throughout the branch network as required.
Reporting to the Treasury & Finance Manager, the Financial Accountant will play a key role in maintaining the financial integrity of the Credit Union through the preparation of accurate financial reports, effective financial controls, regulatory compliance and financial analysis. The successful candidate will support strategic decision-making by providing timely financial information, assisting with treasury and liquidity management, and contributing to the ongoing financial stability and success of the Credit Union.

Requirements

Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA or CIMA).

Experience preparing management accounts and financial reports.

Experience with budgeting and forecasting.

Knowledge of financial controls and reconciliations.

Experience working in a regulated financial services environment is desirable.

Detail oriented and well organized, able to work on own initiative.

A problem solver, with the ability to handle escalations effectively.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, inclusive of report writing.

Flexible and adaptable to learn and work on different tasks, in different situations.

Approachable and friendly, with good teamwork and collaboration.

Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, with excellent Excel skills, along with good keyboard skills.

An understanding of the credit union movement would be a distinct advantage.

Full clean drivers license and access to a vehicle for inter-branch travel.
